Okay. So I feel like I will need a new computer very soon. 1)My current laptop can’t cope with what I ask of it [This may just be me expecting  far too much >.<] 2)I have 24gb free on 140gb of hard drive space.

My CPU usage is constantly at 100% from the moment I launch Firefox to when I switch off. My RAM usage is usually high 80%. One of the main reasons for this is all of these:

My many tray apps

From left to right: foobar2000, Last.fm, WhatPulse, Rainmeter, TweetDeck, WLM 2009, AVG, Flux, DesktopCoral, Dell Quickset, Wakoopa, StartKiller. And AVG is usually running scans as well.

Yes, nearly all of these are very pointless, but they make my experience more enjoyable/I like being stalked by little applications.

I will also have Firefox open with at least five tabs, a Windows Explorer window and usually one or two WLM conversations.

If you know even a little about computers, you will know that these do not all run smoothly on a 1.8Ghz processor.

So I am attempting to save up about £350 to buy a new computer. I will buy it after July the first, however, so I get a Windows Seven upgrade (because it is shiny).

During Easter, my dad will hopefully be able to decorate my room (I am getting fed up of houses and sheep and cows and pigs). He will also attempt to build a desk in the corner of my room. One which I can put my legs under and will comfortably hold two screens/a laptop and a screen. I also need to buy a new chair before my back snaps in half. I saw a pretty nice mesh chair in Ryman for about £45. It was confortable, too!

    :O
What on earth have you used >100GB on?
My Ubuntu home partition is 30GB, and I’ve still got 8 left after nearly 3 years’ use…

Windows Vista, Windows Seven, two lots of programs, high bitrate music, videos(including two series of Torchwood-10gb and lots of BBC programmes as well as a couple of films – legally of course), photos, and then lots of other random images/documents/attempts at websites.

In all honesty, I have no idea >__<

Harry i think you should get the same pc as me for a little more. Then you get intel core 2 quad, nvidia geforce 9600gs, 700gb HDD and some other shiz i cba to say! You could defo fit all your “legal” movies on that!

Josef, Josef, Josef. What is the point in buying a computer in 2009 with only a 700GB hdd? (Not that 700GB is physically possible, anyway…).
1TB+ is the way forward. ;)
