This is very fucking early.

Hmm, it seems a little early to be moaning about Christmas, with it being just under two months away, but it seems that everywhere is getting Christmas stock/ decorations/ everything earlier and earlier each year.

Marks and Spencer have dedicated half of the first floor in my local shop (which is pretty large) to Christmas decorations. I’m not usually too bothered about this, but when it is’t even November, it seems unnecessary in my opinion.

I think that some of this is that I am getting older and Christmas isn’t as exciting as it is when you are four of five, but I think most of it is that in the last year I seem to have become ever grumpier, pedantic and cynical. I understand that it is a way for shops to make a lot of money, but surely it would be possible for them to hold back another couple of days? I mean there is another half term to go before the Christmas holidays!

I guess that when December comes I will become less Grinch-like, and will be able to enjoy the festivities. But until then, I don’t see the necessity.

For once, I am quite enjoying the cold spell, even if I do have cold toes and it is nearly freezing outside (0.1ºC to be precise). It means I get to wear my thick coat outside, and look forward to my lovely snug bed in the evenings… Then have to force myself out and into the cold surroundingds. But hey, that’s winter for you
