But not the end of October, that was too crap to remember.
Hike Weekend
The hike didn’t go too badly, my group was pretty good, however we got lost in the wood where we always get lost. I knew I shouldn’t have trusted Scott. But anyway, after we all arrived, as usual, all of us older people had many laughs. However, I was a bit annoyed that we didn’t get to spend as much time together, seeing as it was my last Scouting activity. Oh well, my group won the quiz (by two points), which, I must say, was largely down to me. We would have got another point if Chloe hadn’t laughed at me when I said Charles Darwin was on the back of £10 notes. Her laugh seemed to suggest that it was foolish and wrong, so I did not say it :S
I did also miss a turning on the last leg of the Sunday’s hike, but luckily I knew where we were and just took a different route.
Explorers
Nothing happens on Mondays and Tuesday, they are insignificant in this post.
Wednesday evening was Explorers. Fireworks ^__^ They were pretty awesome; one fell over and went straight between one of the leaders’ legs. It was very funny (although, it really shouldn’t have been; it was a very serious matter 
).
Anyway, I got invested into Explorers, and so now won’t see a lot of my awesome Scouting friends for a while. Luckily a lot of them are now at high school.
Other things
Hmm… Tuesday was significant actually, it was the US elections. As predicted, Barack Obama (thankfully) won (if you hadn’t heard already >__> ). So, America’s first black president is only half black…
Hopefully, he will be able to sort out the mess that Bush will leave him on January the 20th.
I have found this awesome program that downloads programs off BBC’s iPlayer without DRM. It uses the download which is only meant for iPhones, that does not have DRM. Unfortunately, this means that the videos are in .mov format, but thankfully the wonders of VLC Media player can play these 
So, It seems as though that is all for today; I don’t think I will go into the details of the very humerous incident which was going to happen on Friday.

I love you Harry! That iPlayer downloader is really awesome – it even works on my internet tablet. ^_^
And Obama being elected was such a relief. Do you remember after the Sarah Palin was nominated as McCain’s VP, and it looked as though the Republicans could actually be elected? ’twas scary… :S

Prop8 is very much a bitch. Such a shame it passed.
California still recognises civil partnerships, though; prop8 really changes things in name only. Just have to hope that it doesn’t lead to more reductions to gay rights in the future…
